The demolition of the existing detached dwelling while retaining the existing Neo-classical facade as designed by architect Lionel Sturgess. The new proposal includes the excavation of a part one / part two-story basement with a swimming pool and spa facilities. The basement has front and rear light-wells with access to a replacement garden summerhouse.
The design respects the rhythm, form and massing, scale and height and historic context of the site and takes into consideration the spatial and visual character of the site itself and the surrounding area and street scene.
